Terms of Service
1. The service
Screenproof is a macOS application for capturing, redacting, and annotating screenshots, published by screenproof.app ("we", "us"). By downloading, purchasing, or using Screenproof you agree to these terms.
2. Trial
New installs include a 14-day free trial with full functionality. After the trial, exporting requires a license. No account or payment details are needed to trial.
3. Licenses & membership
- A membership costs $49/year per seat (launch promotions may reduce this) and issues a license key for the number of seats purchased. Organizations can license fleets via an enterprise quote.
- Your license is perpetual — the version of Screenproof you have keeps working even if your membership lapses.
- An active membership includes software updates and Premium Support for one year from purchase. Renewing extends that window; not renewing simply stops new updates.
- One seat means one person's use. Keys are issued to you (or your organization) and may not be shared publicly, resold, or distributed. We may revoke keys that are fraudulently obtained, charged back, or publicly leaked.
4. Payments & refunds
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in USD; applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
- 30-day money-back guarantee: if Screenproof isn't for you, open a case at Premium Support within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund you in full.
- Memberships renew annually. You can cancel renewal any time; your license keeps working (see §3).
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Screenproof to violate the law or others' rights, and don't attempt to circumvent, disable, or reverse-engineer its licensing or mandatory-redaction mechanisms. Organizational policy enforced by your administrator (MDM) is between you and your organization.
6. Your content
Screenshots you capture are yours and stay on your device (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the content you capture, redact, and share.
7. Warranty & liability
Screenproof is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Redaction and PII detection assist you but do not guarantee that sensitive content is removed — always review before sharing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of these terms or the software is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
